Now IT Matters

No one starts a nonprofit because they care about data. They start them because they care about people and the state of the world. So, data and information systems are not the center of a nonprofit's vision, nor should they be. Yet the day comes when the lack of good data systems starts to work against their vision. Until then, IT does not matter, but after that, nonprofits pay a little more each day—and the costs begin to add up.

The work the world most needs is being done by nonprofits, and that work should not be delayed by system errors. In the past, IT was just another job for a volunteer, but the past is gone and now IT matters.
