Brainpan.AI is an AI-visibility research and GEO (generative engine optimization) firm. We measure how AI assistants — ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, and Claude — actually describe, cite, and recommend brands, rather than how those brands describe themselves.

Our AIVI (AI Visibility Index) methodology scores brands on five components: share of model (how often they're mentioned), recommendation strength, position weighting, citation influence, and top-3 placement rate — normalized against the category leader and benchmarked against real-world market share. We publish reproducible, quarterly AIVI benchmarks, starting with a 134-brand Q2 2026 study of the insurance industry. The query set, competitive universe, and platform set are all declared and published, including per-brand JSON data — the numbers can be checked by anyone, not just taken on trust from us.

We help companies close the gap between their real-world market position and how AI systems actually represent them. That includes a specific, underexamined problem we've found repeatedly in our research: brands that have been retired, acquired, or merged can keep generating real AI-answer visibility long after the transition, without that recognition transferring to the company that now owns it. Our Post-Acquisition AI Identity Diagnostic addresses that gap directly — legacy-brand retrieval footprint, parent/legacy attribution rate, conflicting entity signals, and a remediation roadmap covering redirects, structured data, and knowledge-graph reconciliation.
