ANCORD Design Co is a sustainable industrial design studio based in Victoria, BC, working with outdoor, action sports, and durable consumer product brands across North America.

We specialize in production-ready design — not concept art. Our work sits at the intersection of industrial design, mechanical engineering, and sustainable product development. Every project is grounded in research before concepts begin, and every design decision is validated against manufacturing reality before it's called production-ready.

What we do:

Design Research — structured discovery sprints that derisk product investment before concept work begins

Industrial Design — form development, ergonomics, CMF, and product architecture for physical goods

Mechanical Engineering & CAD — Onshape-based development, tolerance analysis, and prototype-to-production translation

Design for Manufacturing — tooling review, process selection, and supplier-facing specifications

Prototyping — in-house 3D printing and external vendor coordination through production validation

• Branding — product naming, packaging, and visual identity for client products
• Consulting — sustainability audits, material selection, DFM reviews, IP landscape analysis

We work through three engagement models: focused R&D Sprints (2–4 weeks), multi-month Development Projects, and Embedded Innovation Partnerships for ongoing product development.

Sustainability is treated as an engineering constraint, not a marketing claim. We hold Green Leader status with BC Green Business and Water Friendly Business certification. Our work has contributed to measurable outcomes including 350,000+ toothbrushes diverted from landfill and patent-pending sustainable product systems.
