At Walt & Gordon, we know the challenges of being an entrepreneur because we’ve lived them. We Doordashed our way through business school at BYU — 3 years of delivering food for roughly 8 hours a day, every day, surrounded by the "startup culture" of Utah. Everyone wanted to be the next big founder, and we did too. We schemed, we brainstormed, we tried—nothing stuck.Then one day, while out on a Doordash delivery his junior year, Ezra saw a yard sign for a plumber with nothing but a phone number on it. He called and asked if he could build him a website. The plumber said yes. Then his friend said yes. Then their friends said yes. Family members said yes. And it has been miracle after miracle ever since.After years of failed startups, we finally realized the secret to business: stop trying so hard to start one. Instead, focus on serving and solving a real problem.
