Our namesake, Phoebe Omlie, was a pioneer in American aviation. She was referred to by Eleanor Roosevelt as a woman “whose achievements make it safe to say the world is progressing.” The definition of a pioneer is someone who begins or develops something new AND prepares the way for others to follow.
