## About

I have spent well over 20 years learning and practicing human resources. Throughout my career, I always felt the most attracted to opportunities where I could work directly with entrepreneurs to help them grow their businesses through their talent function. In most cases their companies never had an HR department, the team was smaller, or sometimes lacked the training they needed to cover the roles they occupied. It took me longer than it should have, but the lightbulb finally went off and I realized I kept coming back to those environments because I also really enjoyed building something from scratch and taking risks.

With that self-discovery Kitson Human Capital Solutions was formed.

Some highlights about me:

- I have led teams of over 20 as a CHRO and been the sole HR professional at a company
- I have reported directly to owners, founders, presidents, or CEOs for the majority of my career
- Heavy mergers and acquisitions (M&A) background for about a decade. I have been on the acquired end in a $2 billion transaction and led extremely complex integration efforts in a combined $10 billion business. I have managed acquisitions with multiple companies
- I have worked for 3 different private equity (PE) groups at both the holding company and portfolio company level. Those groups ranged from a smaller holding company that targeted deals below $10 million to very large investment firms with over $60 billion in assets
- I graduated at the top of my class from what I consider to be the best HR Graduate program in the country at the University of Illinois
- I have business experience in most states including extensively with the dreaded California
- I have international, union, and non-union expertise in both privately and publicly held companies. Those roles encompass field, corporate, and multi-unit experience with headcounts ranging from 100 to 75,000 team members
