## About

On the Grid Web Design builds websites, mobile apps, and custom software that work. We specialize in rescuing legacy systems built on outdated or obscure technologies — turning them into something you’re proud to show off. When off-the-shelf solutions fall short, we build exactly what you need from scratch. From consumer apps to aerospace and scientific software, we’ve done it.

A lot of development shops chase the newest frameworks and trendiest libraries. We don’t.

We choose tools that are proven, efficient and purpose-built for the job — not bloated packages that pull in dozens of nested dependencies to do something already built into the core language. We have cleaned up countless codebases and websites that were slow, broken or unnecessarily complex because of over-engineered solutions. Our philosophy is simple: the best code is lean, reliable, and easy to maintain.

This approach has a real, visible impact. Overly complex websites frequently break — especially for users with basic privacy or security settings on their browsers. Our sites are built to work for everyone, without unnecessary dependencies or fragile third-party layers.

We also deliberately minimize our reliance on Big Tech platforms and services. That means better privacy for your business, fewer external points of failure and no being at the mercy of platform changes that break websites.
