We saw the need for software and product design decisions to be based on the universal principles that all humans have in common. By basing design decisions on these things, products become more usable, more "catchy" and therefore, more popular and "timeless". The universal principles are also known as "Human Factors": Sensory Perception, Pre-attentive Processing, Integration of Prior Knowledge, Metacognition and Working Memory and the effect that Culture has on our decision making process.
